The site of this year’s Patron Party pairs contemporary style with understated elegance. This 20,000-square-foot home was brought to life on a pastoral 50-acre plot of land adjacent to a man-made 1.5-acre lake. Incomparable craftsmanship is accented by exceptional artwork and enhanced with Christmas cheer at this one-of-a-kind home.

Merry Christmas at the Meadow House! Outdoors, light poles decorated in greenery and bows greet visitors. Down the long driveway, an antique sleigh and reindeer welcome you. The stone and stucco exterior leads to an arched entryway, with the door wreathed and draped in garland. Miniature Christmas trees stand as sentries.

The vaulted, 24-foot-high foyer – with its ombre-painted ceiling and handmade teardrop crystal chandelier – sets the stage for Christmas throughout. The central staircase and balcony railings are decked with garland and finished with poinsettia flourishes. A Scottish-themed Christmas tree serves as the backdrop for family heirlooms.

The adjacent great room, featuring a glassed, half-moon solarium, is ringed with greenery. Built-in banquette seating frames the fireplace, where a battalion of nutcrackers stand at attention on the mantel beneath a festive wreath. Across the room, a life-size Santa is dwarfed by a 12-foot-tall Christmas tree, exquisitely decorated with ornaments galore. Touches of Christmas are tucked everywhere.

The dining room is flanked by eye-catching onyx sculptures by Nina Cantrell. “Horse of Selena” is one of the sculptor’s pieces in the homeowners’ extensive art collection. Its placement at one end of the dining room is balanced by her mythical “Serena Nel Mare” at the other. Between them, an elegant table is festively set for 14, the fireplace mantel is draped in holiday finery, and the teardrop chandelier is decked in greenery.

The butler’s pantry leads to the kitchen and sitting room, where a coffered ceiling links the rooms. The whimsically themed Christmas tree, decorated fireplace mantel, wreaths with cascading ribbons, and lighted cabinets staged for Christmas are just a few of the holiday touches.

Even Christmas cannot diminish the grandeur of the stunning artwork in the 75-foot-long gallery, from the inlaid mosaics at either end to the sculptures, tapestries and paintings, several of which were created by the homeowner and her mother, both artists.

The wood-paneled library, complete with a rolling ladder, sits at one end of the gallery. Lit garlands frame the windows above a comfy couch, and a poinsettia-laden garland dwarfs the massive mantel of another fireplace. Christmas-themed pillows entice one to linger.

Several of the home’s other unique features branch from the gallery, including the owners’ private spaces and the octagonal breakfast room with its peaked beam ceiling. During the holidays, blue glass swags herald the entrance to an old-fashioned Santa room, decorated in a woodland theme. The breakfast room table is set with dishes handed down in the family.

Midway along the gallery is an art-filled hallway, the side table decorated for the season with white fluffy reindeer and the owner’s mother’s 1950s elves. The hallway opens to an aquatic area with an indoor swimming pool, therapy pool, spacious jacuzzi, kitchenette and seating area.

Don’t miss the powder room at the far end of the gallery, complete with colorful wallpaper, a feather-like light fixture, greenery and a playful monkey!

Each of the three bedrooms on the upper level includes a sitting room and a bath, complete with impeccable tilework and wallpaper that conveys the artistic creativity of the homeowners.

The balcony bedroom is hosting a Baby Yoda slumber party with dozens of the cuties dressed for Christmas and frolicking about.

Down a long hallway punctuated with window seats, the serene lake bedroom is decked out for the season with blue Christmas trees, blue and white snowflakes, and silver reindeer.

Along another hallway is the tower bedroom. Its stone wall and arched windows imbue an Olde World ambiance. For the holidays, the room features animatronic carolers, old-fashioned skates, antique sleds and seasonal greenery.

Just outside the tower bedroom, a staircase rises to a tower. A beamed and vaulted ceiling and Gothic mullioned windows lend authenticity to the room’s name. Another full-sized Christmas tree, a chandelier adorned with greenery, and candles in the windows add a festive air to one of the most unique rooms in the home.

The lower level will be open to Patron Party guests, including a speakeasy, theater room and so much more.

The inimitable and incomparable Meadow House is a Christmas fantasy come true.
